Buxus sempervirens or American boxwood is a broadly rounded, muti-branched, evergreen shrub or small tree in the Buxaceae family. It can grow up to 15 to 20 feet tall at maturity and can be kept much shorter through pruning. Thinning plants annually will assist with light and air circulation.
