Strelitzia Nicolai or commonly known as bird of paradise displays large tropical leaves that in the wilds of southern Africa and can reach up to 20’ tall. Locate them away form the air vents and drafts. Splitting leaves on this plant is totally normal and natural. It is one kind of evolutionary adaption of the plant that allow wind to pass through the leaves. In their natural habitat of high humidity and high light conditions will induce them to flower.

Secret of success:
☀️: Prefer bright indirect sunlight and able to tolerate medium light conditions. It will not thrive long term without adequate sunlight.
🌱: Well-drained soil.
🚿: Water the plant when the soil is dry.
👩🏻🌾: Fertilize lightly during the growing season.
✂️: Trim away the older leaves (droop over time and develop more split)

- If the preserved flower is stained by the dust, you can clean the preserved flower with the blower blowing softly 20cm away from the flower.
- Temperature changes should be avoided to prevent humidity which could affect your blossoms.
