Tillandsia ionantha, often called the blushing air plant, is one of the most popular and striking species of air plants in the bromeliad family. The plant has narrow, spiky leaves that curve slightly and form a rosette. The leaves are green, but they turn bright shades of red or pink when the plant is about to bloom, hence the nickname "blushing air plant."
