《'多蒂' 彩虹竹芋》
Calathea Dottie is a striking variety of the Calathea genus, known for its deep, dark foliage that stands out in any plant collection. The leaves are a rich, almost black-purple color, with vibrant, hot pink outlines that trace the shape of the leaves and form a central pattern that mirrors the leaf’s venation. This bold contrast gives the plant a dramatic and eye-catching appearance.
The leaves of Calathea Dottie are broad, oval-shaped, and slightly elongated. They have a glossy finish, which enhances their deep, dark coloration. The undersides of the leaves are a dark burgundy or purple, adding to the plant's overall visual appeal, especially when the leaves move. Like other Calathea varieties, Calathea Dottie exhibits nyctinasty, meaning its leaves move in response to the light cycle. The leaves tend to fold upwards at night and open out during the day, showcasing the beautiful pink patterns.

Plant Care Guide for Calathea Dottie《'多蒂' 彩虹竹芋》
-
Light
Thrives in bright indirect sunlight to partial sunlight. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may experience slower growth and less vibrant leaf colors. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause the leaves to scorch and lose their distinctive patterns.
-
Soil
Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix with added perlite or sand to improve aeration.
-
Water Requirement
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Use room-temperature water to avoid shocking the plant. Calathea plants are sensitive to chemicals in tap water, so using filtered or distilled water is recommended.
-
Temperature
Ideal growing temperatures are between 18℃ to 27℃. Keep it away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
-
Humidity
High humidity is essential for Calathea. Aim for a humidity level of 60% or higher. Dry air can cause the leaf edges to brown and curl.
-
Fertilizer
Fertilize lightly during growing season. Fertilise every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season.
-
Caution
Regularly remove any yellowing or damaged leaves to maintain the plant’s appearance. Pruning is generally minimal, as Calathea does not grow very large.
