Asplenium bulbiferum, commonly known as the Hen and Chicken Fern, is a fern species native to New Zealand and some parts of Australia. The fronds are finely divided, giving them a feathery and delicate appearance. It is well-known for its ability to produce small plantlets on its fronds, giving rise to its "hen and chickens" nickname.

    Prefers indirect light or dappled shade; direct sunlight can scorch the fronds.

  • Soil

    Use a well-draining, rich organic soil.

  • Water Requirement

    Keep the soil consistently moist, avoid letting the soil dry out completely.

  • Temperature

    Ideal growing temperatures are between 15℃ to 32℃.

  • Humidity

    Enjoy high humidity. Misting the leaves.

  • Fertilizer

    Use a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength, apply every 4-6 weeks.

  • Caution

    Regularly remove brown, yellowing, or diseased fronds prevents the spread of issues and encourages the growth of healthy new fronds. Can be propagated by separating the plantlets from the fronds and planting them in soil.
