Also known as the Bird’s Nest Fern, Asplenium nidus is an epiphytic fern native to tropical regions like Southeast Asia, Eastern Australia, Hawaii, Polynesia, India, and parts of Africa. It features glossy, strap-shaped fronds growing in a rosette that resembles a bird’s nest.

  • Light

    Keep your fern in bright, indirect light and avoid direct sunlight that may scorch its fronds.

  • Soil

    Use a rich, well-draining mix and ensure pot has drainage holes to avoid waterlogging.

  • Water Requirement

    Water when the soil is dried. Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Make sure to water around the base and avoid water the center as it may cause rot.

  • Temperature

    Keep it cozy around 15–30°C is perfect. Avoid putting near AC or heaters.

  • Humidity

    Ideal humidity is 50%-70%, mist lightly once or twice a week. Avoid overdoing mist to prevent fungal issues. It can be placed at bathroom or kitchen that has naturally humid spots.

  • Fertilizer

    Half-strength fertilizer about once a month.

  • Caution

    Trim off any yellow or dead fronds to keep it tidy.
