Unwrap & Prepare: Remove all packaging and allow the flowers to breathe. Keep them away from direct sunlight and heat.

Trim the Stems: Cut 1–2 cm off the stems at a 45° angle using clean scissors or a knife. This helps the flowers absorb water better.

Use Clean Water & Flower Food: Place flowers in a clean vase filled with fresh water. If flower food is provided, mix it according to the instructions. You can also purchase flower food to help your flowers last longer.

Change Water Regularly: Replace the water every 1–2 days. Rinse the vase and re-trim the stems each time to keep bacteria away.

Remove Wilted Parts: Remove any leaves below the waterline and discard wilted petals or flowers to maintain freshness.

Choose the Right Spot: Keep flowers in a cool, shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight, fans, air-conditioning vents, and ripening fruits.

Refresh When Needed: If flowers start to droop, re-trim the stems and change the water to revive them.

Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight as it can burn the leaves.

Soil: Use well-draining, slightly acidic potting mix, like orchid mix or a mix for houseplants.

Water Requirement: Keep the soil slightly moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Ensure good drainage to avoid root rot.

Temperature: It thrives in temperatures between 16-27°C. Avoid cold drafts or temperatures below 13°C.

Humidity: Ludisia discolour loves high humidity, around 50-70%.

Fertiliser: Feed once a month during the growing season (spring to summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer.

Caution: Increase humidity by using a humidifier, placing the plant on a pebble tray with water, or misting the leaves occasionally. If your home is dry, this is especially important.
