Coffea plant, commonly known as the coffee plant, is a tropical evergreen shrub native to Africa, especially Ethiopia. It has glossy, dark green, elliptical leaves that grow in pairs along woody stems, creating a lush, bushy look. The plant takes about 3 to 4 years to reach maturity, after which it produces small, fragrant white flowers, followed by coffee cherries containing coffee beans. Coffea can be grown for its beans or appreciated as an appealing houseplant.
