Calathea roseopicta 'Rosey' is a vibrant and eye-catching variety known for its large, rounded leaves that feature a striking blend of colors. The leaves have a silvery-green or pale pink base color with bold, dark green edges. The center of the leaves is often flushed with a soft, rosy pink hue, which can range from light blush to deeper pink tones, depending on the lighting and age of the leaf. The combination of these colors creates a beautiful, almost painted effect, giving the plant its name "Rosey."
Like other Calathea species, Calathea roseopicta 'Rosey' exhibits nyctinasty, where the leaves move in response to the light cycle. The leaves fold upwards in the evening and open again in the morning, creating a dynamic display that adds to the plant's appeal.

Plant Care Guide for Calathea Roseopicta Rosey《红玫瑰竹芋》
Light
Thrives in bright indirect sunlight to partial sunlight. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may experience slower growth and less vibrant leaf colors. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause the leaves to scorch and lose their distinctive patterns.
Soil
Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix with added perlite or sand to improve aeration.
Water Requirement
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Use room-temperature water to avoid shocking the plant. Calathea plants are sensitive to chemicals in tap water, so using filtered or distilled water is recommended.
Temperature
Ideal growing temperatures are between 18℃ to 27℃. Keep it away from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Humidity
High humidity is essential for Calathea. Aim for a humidity level of 60% or higher. Dry air can cause the leaf edges to brown and curl.
Fertilizer
Fertilize lightly during growing season. Fertilise every 4 to 6 weeks during the growing season.
Caution
Regularly remove any yellowing or damaged leaves to maintain the plant’s appearance. Pruning is generally minimal, as Calathea does not grow very large.
