《苏铁》
Cycas revoluta, often called the sago palm, is a slow-growing decorative plant from the Cycadaceae family. Although it resembles a palm, it is actually a cycad—an ancient group of plants that dates back to the dinosaur era. This plant features a sturdy, woody trunk topped with a crown of dark green, feathery fronds. Each frond can grow 2–3 feet long and is made up of numerous narrow, stiff leaflets. Its long lifespan and distinctive appearance make it a preferred plant for bringing a tropical feel to landscapes and interior spaces.

Plant Care Guide for Cycas Revoluta 《苏铁》
-
Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sunlight. It can adapt to lower light levels, though it may grow more slowly.
-
Soil
Needs well-drained soil with good aeration. A cactus or succulent soil mix is often suitable.
-
Water Requirement
Cycas revoluta is drought-tolerant, so it’s best to let the soil dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
-
Temperature
Ideal growing temperatures are between 18℃ to 24℃. It might require some afternoon shade to avoid heat stress and sunburn.
-
Humidity
Prefers moderate humidity, ideally between 50-70%.
-
Fertilizer
Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer or one specifically formulated for cycads or palms.
-
Caution
Trim off dead, damaged, or yellowing fronds at the base of the trunk. All parts of the plant, especially the seeds, contain toxins that are harmful to pets and humans if ingested.
